Addiction counselling
Addiction is a complicated mental health issue that varies for each person. I like to understand the roots of the addictive behaviour, whether it's drugs, shopping, food, or internet use. What are you trying to cope with?
Often, it may be numbing difficult emotions like sadness or feeling disconnected from themselves. For others, it could be an attempt to quiet a critical inner voice and deal with social anxiety. For some, what started as fun has turned into a destructive obsession harming relationships and health.
I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to treating addiction. In some cases, quitting entirely may be necessary, but often understanding the root causes and reducing harm is the best approach.
“The inner revolution will not be televised or sold on the Internet. It must take place within one’s own mind and heart.”
